Just BioFiber and EcoLock are working together on a proposed new building for downtown Kelowna, BC.

EcoLock 6 ZCB Pilot poster 33×46 in

From the EcoLock pilot poster

• EcoLock is a Self-Storage, Wine Storage and Co-Work building proposed for downtown Kelowna, BC.
• This 5-floor, 112,000 ft (10,405 m) facility will be the first in North America to combine storage and office functionality in an environmentally-responsible building, utilizing renewable energy, captured rainwater and providing a healthy, pollutant-free space for its occupants.
• The walls of the facility will be built with Super Structural R-Value (SSR) “Just Biofiber” construction blocks.  This Canadian invention absorbs and retains atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) during its manufacturing process and utilizes rapidly-renewable plant fibers, resulting in a carbon-negative construction material. The walls of the building will permanently store 715,000 lbs. (324,600kg) of CO2
• The SSR blocks are registered under the International Living Future Institute’s Declare program and are Red-List Compliant.
